Here is where we post about rules stuff that comes up during games.
I noticed we were missing something critical with Snap-To. A player can snap the ball to them if it lands or ends a scatter within 1" of them. It doesnt have to sit there "free" till they activate. This choice can only be made at that moment though. Which led me to this next topic.
EDIT: This does not seem to apply when a model gives up control of the ball during its movement.
During my late night insomnia googling, I found some clarification on passing and momentum:
If you pass to a player successfully you gain momentum. We knew that.
If you pass to a spot on the field you don't (it is still considered a passing action as far as I can tell though). We also knew that.
If you pass to a spot and it scatters to within 1" of a player they can choose to snap it to them, but it does not get you a momentum. Even if that kick was accurate.
I believe we were playing that right, except where we weren't choosing to snap when the ball ended a scatter or something.
I also noticed we were handling interceptions and ball movement wrong, but it is a bit hard to explain here. I'll show in my next game what I am talking about.
EDIT: Now that I am awake this isn't hard to explain. You determine the ball's path as a straight line that is drawn after you complete all scattering and other movement. Then, you determine if it gets intercepted by any models. This happens if the pass was not to a player directly, or if the pass directly to a player is inaccurate.
Also all measuring for shooting passing and scattering is done from the center of the base. So when someone is KD'd the ball scatters from the center of their base and you measure that out to the center of the ball marker (this does in fact mean that a 5" scatter will actually end up being just under 4" away when measuring base to base). Shooting is done from the center of the player to the edge of the goal and that is the only exception, everything else for kicking is center to center, including passing. Which makes passing a bit trickier since you acutally have to be just under 5" b2b distance in order to make a 6" pass.
This also could just be late night redundant ramblings when I can't sleep.

It looks like we have a pretty good handle on things, with a few minor exceptions.
I've made this thread sticky, so it's easy to find. _________________ my elf stinks...stinks like awesome. |

That makes perfect sense.
Looking forward to another game here soon. Rulebook states that a standard game will take about 2 hours. Based on our last game, that seems about right. _________________ my elf stinks...stinks like awesome. |

Not sure if we've been doing this, but you do not get crowding out or ganging up during parting blow attacks. It's straight TAC +2 _________________ my elf stinks...stinks like awesome. |

We should scrap this thread now that we are in season 2 and some of these are wrong now, pointedly the measuring stuff. |
